Ananda College in Colombo is one of the leading schools in Sri Lanka which has and enrollment over 7000 students at the moment. This majestic school was founded by Colonel Henry Steel Olcott in 1886. In the past 131 years, this school has produced many iconic personnel to the international and national community.
With over 85 clubs and societies established in Ananda College, The Western Music Association stands out from others. Why? Because it organizes a massive musical show called "VIVACE". With the meaning of 'Lively' in Italian, this show saw its first light in 2014 when a group of enthusiastic students came up with a brilliant idea of organizing their own musical event.
With the first small step in 2014, the first musical show was held in the school hall. Although is was a small step, it laid the foundation for the mammoth name, 'VIVACE'!
In 2015, the contemporary board of officials took a huge leap and held 'VIVACE 2015' in the 'Nelum Pokuna' Arena in Colombo 7. With a massive venue like that, it was bit of a challenge to fill this arena with people but the board of officials achieved it as it was nothing.
In 2016, the next board of officials took another huge leap and held the 'VIVACE 2016' in the 'Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium'.
It was held with the accompaniment of many leading artists in Sri Lanka and they achieved to fill over 2500 seats in the stadium!
Now the board of officials of 'VIVACE 2017' is ready to uphold the glory that the past boards has established and they are ready to hold this musical show in the 'Nelum Pokuna Arena' on the 23rd of December 2017!
With the participation of renowned artists such as Umaria Sinhawansa and performances of Anandians themselves, The ACWMA team is ready to walk you through a musical journey that you have never experienced before.
